How Friday practice for the 2023 F1 Miami GP unfolded

With four minutes on the clock, FP2 is back underway.

Leclerc has crashed his Ferrari.

Teams are well into their race simulations.

Verstappen is currently around one-second per lap quicker than the Ferraris.

Verstappen, Sainz, Leclerc, Perez, Alonso, Norris, Hamilton, Stroll, Ocon, Albon, Gasly, Magnussen, Zhou, Bottas, Russell, Piastri, Hulkenberg, Tsunoda, Sargeant and de Vries.

He extends his advantage over Sainz to 0.385s.

After some struggles on his first soft run, Perez goes fourth - 0.164s off Verstappen's best.

It's a 1m28.255s for the reigning world champion - 0.48s ahead of Norris in the McLaren.

Still waiting to see what the Mercs can do on the softs.

He was on course to topple Norris but locked up into the final braking zone. 

Piastri makes it a McLaren 1-2, although he's over 0.5s off Norris - both on the softs.

It's a 1m28.741s for Norris, 0.6s ahead of Verstappen's best time on the mediums.

Expect lap times to continue to fall now.

Looks like the quali runs are underway with Sargeant now on the softs.

Top 10: Verstappen, Leclerc, Perez, Sainz, Russell, Ocon (hards), Hamilton, Alonso (hards), Gasly and Albon.

A near-miss for Magnussen who has a big moment at Turn 11. He brushes the barrier but nothing too major in terms of damage.

Leclerc makes it a Ferrari 1-2 - 0.6s ahead of Sainz.

He sets a 1m30.146s, 0.6s ahead of Perez - a big gap between the two Red Bulls again. 

Gasly slots into third.

It's a 1m32.115s for Alonso to go quickest, 0.1s ahead of Norris.
