Eric Boullier appointed managing director of French GP
Former Lotus and McLaren Formula 1 chief Eric Boullier has been named as the managing director for the French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard ahead of the 2020 race.
Boullier served as a consultant and ambassador for the French Grand Prix in 2019 following his exit from McLaren the previous year, helping oversee a new mobility programme to curb traffic problems that had blighted the race upon its return in 2018.
In a statement issued by the French Grand Prix promoters on Monday, it was confirmed that Boullier would now be overseeing the race as its new managing director.

“I am happy and proud to be more involved in this beautiful project that is the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France,” Boullier said.
“I look forward to continuing to contribute to the success of this great motor sport event on French soil. I would like to thank Christian Estrosi and the GIP Grand Prix de France - Le Castellet for their trust.”
French Grand Prix president Estrosi added: "Since 2019, the French Grand Prix team has already benefited greatly from Eric Boullier's advice and expertise. Eric had already participated in the working group for the return of the Formula 1 French Grand Prix and I am delighted that he is now getting more involved in its organisation.”
As part of the announcement, the French Grand Prix confirmed an expanded mobility plan for the 2020 race, including more park and ride shuttles, travel options from railway stations and bigger camping options.
The French Grand Prix takes place on June 26-28 this year.
