Mayall joins Alan Docking Racing.
Mark Mayall, who claimed fourth place in the Scholarship Class of the 2001 British Formula Three Championship, has signed for the front-running Alan Docking Racing to contest the main class in the prestigious series.
For 24-year-old Mayall, the deal with the team means that in just his fourth season of motorsport he will be competing with the best young drivers around in the UK's leading single-seater championship, the series that has sent drivers such as Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Jenson Button into Formula One.

"I'm pleased to have signed with Alan Docking Racing," says Mayall, "It's where I wanted to go and, as these days you seem to have to do a deal for the next season so early, I'm happy to have everything in place already.
"I think the team and I will work well together, and I can't wait to start. We've got a great sponsorship deal together for not only the British Formula Three season but the international Formula Three races, and now I just can't wait to begin testing with the team."
Based at Silverstone, the Alan Docking Racing team were race winners in the series in 2001, and are delighted to have added Mark to their 2002 Formula Three line-up.
"We're very pleased to have Mark with us for next season," says Team Principal Alan Docking. "Considering what a late starter he was in the sport, he's really a bit special and I'm really looking forward to working with him.
"He's yet to reach his limit as a driver and is keen to learn as much as he can, and I always think that is a good sign in a young driver, you can't really ask for much more. We're going to stretch him and work him hard - 2002 could be very good."
The British Formula Three Championship visits all the UK's major circuits, and attracts top racers from around the world. The 2002 series will take place over 13 race meetings, starting at Brands Hatch, Kent, on 1 April. There are major international Formula Three races at Pau in France in May, Zandvoort in the Netherlands in August, and in the Far East next November.
