Hayes to race French F3 in 2002.
Northern Ireland's Derek Hayes will contest the 16 round French Formula 3 Championship in 2002 with the LD Autosport team.
Macau Grand Prix lap record holder Hayes will also contest all the non-championship international events at Pau, Silverstone, Zandvoort, Spa, Macau, Korea and Dubai.
Hayes will again lead a three car team and is very up beat about his prospects.

On the decision to race in France, Hayes was emphatic. He said: "The French championship in 2002 gives me the best chance to show what I am capable of doing. I am also looking forward to contesting all seven International races which are a very important stage."
"I want to go out and win, win, win," he adds. "Being Mr Consistency with 2nds & 3rds is one thing however winning is what it is all about and I want to be the first British Driver to win the French Title."
Hayes will be contesting with the 2002 spec Mugen-Honda powered Dallara F302. Testing is scheduled to start in March.
