D’Ambrosio replaces Susie Wolff as Venturi Formula E team principal
After an internal reshuffle at Venturi, Wolff is now CEO, while d’Ambrosio will manage the day-to-day running of the team.
Wolff has been team principal of the Monaco-based outfit since 2018, but her new role will mean less travelling to races during the season.
D’Ambrosio was appointed deputy team principal at the start of last season having retired from racing.
The Belgian spent several years in the all-electric series, winning two races during his spells with Dragon and Mahindra.
Speaking of the news, d’Ambrosio said: “This team dynamic resulted in us achieving our most successful campaign to date which is a fantastic foundation to build upon for the future.”
Wolff added: “Since taking on this role in 2018, I have experienced a great sense of pride and achievement from how we have gone from strength to strength as an organisation."
Venturi enjoyed its best season in terms of points scored in 2021 - two wins and 146 points to its name.
It will be hopeful of another step forward in 2022 with Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi replacing Norman Nato.
Edoardo Mortara remains with the team for a fifth consecutive season.
