2025 Valencia MotoGP: Friday Practice LIVE UPDATES

Live coverage of the Practice session from the 2025 Valencia MotoGP, the final round of the season.

The final round of the 2025 MotoGP season, the Valencia MotoGP, gets underway today. Practice is due to start at 15:00 local time.

Marco Bezzecchi enters the finale as the most recent winner after his victory in Portugal last time out, while Francesco Bagnaia is the most recent winner in Valencia back in 2023, and also won last year's final round in Barcelona. They were only 18th and 21st, respectively, in FP1 this morning.

Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez also come to Valencia with good form, both having been on the podium in the two races. Marquez was sixth in FP1, while Acosta was eighth.

Marc Marquez has two MotoGP victories to his name in Valencia, in 2014 and 2019, but remains absent this weekend and is replaced again by Nicolo Bulega, who was 23rd this morning.

After contesting his final home race last week in Portugal, Miguel Oliveira is set to ride in his final grand prix as a full-time MotoGP rider this weekend in Valencia before he starts testing for WorldSBK later this month with BMW.

Somkiat Chantra also takes on his final premier class grand prix this weekend before his own WorldSBK move with Honda.

Jack Miller was fastest this morning in an FP1 session that ended with a highly unusual order at the top, with Ai Ogura second and HRC test rider Aleix Espargaro third, the Spaniard one of two wildcards this weekend, the other being Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez who was 10th-fastest on the V4 M1 this morning.

14:35

Quartararo's bike is back in the Yamaha pit box now. Unsure exactly what the issue was.

14:32
Quartararo issue

Quartararo has just had some kind of expiry on his Yamaha along the front straight. He's pulled off at turn one and is trying to get the bike back to the pits. Seems like steam coming out of the left side of the bike.

14:31

1:30.391 is an improvement from Marini and puts him 10th, but 0.6s slower than Acosta.

14:30

Two 1:29.790 laps in a row for Acosta - brutal pace.

14:28

Acosta takes us into the 1:29s at a 29.790. Hard front he started the session with and a fresh medium rear.

14:26

Ogura has crashed at turn three, but has been able to walk away - fast one there. P13 at the moment for Ogura.

14:25

Di Giannantonio to the top now, 1:30.000, Morbidelli then goes second on a 1:30.015. Fresh softs for Di Giannantonio, Morbidelli on used hard front, used medium rear.

14:24

Not many riders improving at the minute, just a race pace portion of the session, but Di Giannantonio just popped up to P3.

Bezzecchi has been able to get back out on-track on his second bike.

14:16

A lot of riders back in the pits now. Bezzecchi still fastest despite his crash, then Acosta and Fernandez in the top-three.

Quartararo fourth from Mir and Morbidelli, then Zarco, Miller, Marquez, and Di Giannantonio in the top-10.

Bagnaia just outside the Q2 spots at the moment in 11th, Aldeguer also outside in 14th.

Marini quite far down the order in 16th, and Binder after being second earlier is down in 17th.

14:12

Bezzecchi has crashed at turn four. Seems okay. He'd been lapping together with Acosta and just lost the front while behind him.

14:07

Bezzecchi now to the top on a 1:30.126 from Acosta on a 30.186. Both on soft rears.

Raul Fernandez now third on 1:30.279, he's the fastest of those on medium rears.

14:06

Crash for Augusto Fernandez at turn six. He's up and okay.

14:06

Temperatures are up from this morning, helped by the disappearance of the clouds that hung over the circuits during FP1. 22C air and 24C track temperature at the moment.

14:05

Everyone out there on hard front tyre, but a split between medium and soft rears. Bagnaia on the soft, so is Binder who is up in second.

14:04

Bagnaia with the early benchmark this afternoon at a 1:30.601. Expect some substantial improvements on that.

14:00
Practice start

Pit lane is open in Valencia and we are underway for the final Practice of the season.

FP1 recap

Jack Miller topped FP1 this morning in Valencia. It was an odd top-10, that featured both Trackhouse Aprilias but neither factory bike, two Yamahas but none from the factory team, two of the riders on the podium last week in Portugal but not race winner Marco Bezzecchi, and two test riders in Aleix Espargaro and Augusto Fernandez.

Bezzecchi himself was down in 18th, while two-time Valencia winner Pecco Bagnaia was only 21st.

Jorge Martin kicked his MotoGP return off in 24th, right at the bottom of the times.

Miller fastest in FP1

Jack Miller tops FP1 in Valencia, ahead of Ai Ogura and Aleix Espargaro in the top-three.

Raul Fernandez fourth from Morbidelli and Alex Marquez who completes the top-six.

Mir, Acosta, Di Giannantonio, and Augusto Fernandez round out the top-10.

Bezzecchi down in 18th, Bagnaia down in 21st.

Bulega 23rd, by the way, at the start of his second weekend - 1.3s off the pace.

Jorge Martin's return starts with a P24 in FP1, 1.5s off the pace; Vinales, on the other hand, was 19th.

10:52

Improvement from Espargaro puts him P2, Miller still top by over 0.3s.

10:50

Aldeguer has crashed at turn four. Lost the front just as he was picking up the gas. A bit of a tumble through the gravel, but he's okay.

10:47

Another improvement from Acosta, stays third, but pushes back to fourth as Miller goes half-a-second faster with some fresh tyres - medium front and rear.

10:46

Acosta improves but lost 0.2s to Marquez in the final split - 1:31.072 puts him just under 0.2s behind Marquez and P3.
