However the time gaps at the front were large, with only four riders within one-second of Iannone.
Although Iannone and Suzuki team-mate Rins are expected to race the soft tyres they were using in warm-up, many of the Ducatis were also surprisingly running soft rubber front and rear this morning. Perhaps they were simply saving their hard tyres for the race, or maybe they are planning a change?
However, pole man Lorenzo stuck with his expected soft front-hard rear tyre combination.

Pol Espargaro rebroke his healing left collarbone in FP3 and has been ruled out of the remainder of the race.
Tito Rabat is still recovering from leg injuries at Silverstone and has been replaced by WorldSBK rider Jordi Torres, making his MotoGP debut this weekend. Torres is using the GP16 machines of Simeon, who has been handed Rabat's GP17s.
