Racers call Carillo for crunch cup-tie.

Reading will have to pull out all the stops in their quest to reach the semi-finals of the Premier League KO Cup, when they have to make up a fourteen point deficit against Hull Vikings on Monday night at Smallmead in the second leg of their quarter-final tie.

The Euphony Racers lost 53-39 in the first leg at Hull on Wednesday night, and will have to be at their very best in the return match, if they wish to come through to face Exeter Falcons in the semi-final.

However all is not lost, and the Smallmead bosses insist it is not mission impossible, Reading team manager Ivan Shears said, "It's not going to be easy as Hull are a very good side, but we still believe that if we ride to our best form that this tie is still retrievable."

"We're riding exceptionally well at home and our team spirit is excellent. Despite being without Danny (Bird) for the past few weeks, the rest of the lads have really pulled together and used this as a motivation. We've also
had two fantastic away wins in the past week at Stoke and Somerset, and that has really boosted our league position. We'll be giving it everything we've got against Hull on Monday night."

Reading will have to go into the meeting once again without
key heat-leader Danny Bird. Bird remains sidelined with his injured shoulder, so the Euphony Racers will continue to operate rider-replacement to cover for him. Racers will also be with Chris Mills who has been diagnosed with a broken shoulder blade, and is expected to be out of action
for up to two weeks.

Glasgow's Eric Carrillo will step in to replace him against the Vikings. The American has been in great form for Glasgow since joining them on loan from Wolverhampton earlier in the season averaging over six points a match. He looks to be a good choice of guest and could prove to be a trump card for the Racers against the Vikings.
