Rebels take on triple champs.

The Somerset 'Sharp' Rebels will be looking to continue their excellent form of last week when they beat Mildenhall home and away, the latter of these two meetings being Somerset's opening fixture in the Premier League.

Their opposition on Friday (27th) could not be tougher, however, as their visitors are last season's triple champions, the King's Lynn 'Money Centre' Stars.

Even though the Stars have seen both Kevin Doolan and Troy Batchelor move on to try their luck in the Elite League, but still have an extremely strong septet, as their recent demolition by the maximum 75-15 scoreline of much fancied Sheffield Tigers proved.

Their team therefore has a very familiar look about with twice Czech Champion, Tomas Topinka again leading the side, 2007 being his 5th season at Saddlebow Road. Ex-Rebel Chris Mills partners Topinka at number two, the Essex based rider having spent the latter half of the season at Somerset in 2005.

Swede Daniel Nermark lines up at number three for the Stars and will be looking to continue his excellent start of the season at a track he normally rides so well. Aussie Trevor Harding dons the number four race jacket, but will be the first to admit that his form in recent visits to the Oak Tree Arena have been on the disappointing side.

A rider returning to the saddle after missing the best part of a season and a half of racing is Paul Lee, who rides a number 5 for the Stars. A badly broken arm sustained during 2005 has kept this highly talent youngster away from track action until now, but his form to date would indicate that he is showing no ill-effects from his lay off, and has traditionally always ridden well at the Oak Tree Arena.

At reserve, King's Lynn track James Brundle, a rider of much unfulfilled potential, but one who scored well at Somerset last season when with Mildenhall to help the Fen Tigers to victory at the Oak Tree Arena. With the unfortunate John Oliver current sidelined due to injury, the Stars have call upon the services of Newport's Michal Rajkowski to guest at reserve in Oliver's absence.

For Somerset, Team Manager Steve Bishop announces an unchanged line up, Tomas Suchanek taking up his place at reserve having missed last week's meeting due to riding back in the Czech Republic in a European Qualification round.
