A true meeting of nostalgia for the Black Country speedway fan. The famous old derby of Wolverhampton and Cradley Heath is being rekindled, involving past and present track stars.

Former American World Champions Billy Hamill and Greg Hancock (pictured) will lead the Heathens, after riding for the club at Dudley Wood from 1989 until closure in 1996.

Four former Cradley Heath riders have been tempted out of retirement for this meeting only, plus another two for Wolves. Names include 1977 Cradley captain Bruce Cribb, now aged 55. Also, one of the longest serving Heathens, Alan Grahame, along with brother Andy. 'Big Al' rode at Dudley Wood in a career spanning almost twenty years and remains one the highest points scorers in the club's fifty year history.

The meeting will be run with eight-man teams over a 15-heat formula. An additional feature is a mini-Elite league challenge between Correy's two other British teams, Long Eaton and Belle Vue. There will also be a range of demonstration races on some vintage 500 JAP motorcycles.
