On Monday night at Smallmead Stadium, Reading Euphony Racers take on their M4 rivals Newport Wasps in Premier League action 7.30pm. The Wasps have had an indifferent 2003 season like the Racers, they currently lie 12th in the Premier League table, just two places ahead of Reading.

The Mildenhall Fen Tigers take a break from more traditional fare this weekend when they stage the Handicap Best Pairs at West Row on Sunday. The meeting will consist of a heat leader being paired with a reserve or second string with the heat leader going off 15 metres.

Carr celebrates 25 years in speedway.
Only a small number of Speedway riders have ever had a career spanning quarter of a century. On Friday at Armadale Edinburgh superstar Peter Carr will celebrate reaching this mark along with 20 of his current fellow riders, plus some from the recent past, all friends from his time in the sport.

Rye House Raiders boss Len Silver has heaped praise on current Rye House number one Barrie Evans for winning the Conference League Riders' Championship at Hoddesdon on Saturday in the face of incredibly strong competition.
Legault races away with Ontario Open Championship.
The Kyle Legault domination of Canadian speedway shows no sign of deterioration as he raced away with the Ontario Open Championship at the Paris speedway over the weekend. Philip Lemay took the division two event while Shawn Morrison was the division three victor.
Ales Dryml joins Poole.
Poole have snapped up Ales Dryml for their remaining Elite League meetings as they look to lift the championship. The former Oxford and Belle Vue rider will replace David Ruud who will continue to ride for the Pirates' British League Cup side.

Machine race to biggest win.
The Poole Pirates were made to walk the plank at Sandy Lane last night as the Silver Machine raced to their biggest victory of the season.

British longtrack success at Tonbridge.
The British Flag was flying high at Collier Street track on Sunday 24th August as former World Long Track Champion Kelvin Tatum took his second win in the championship series in front of his home fans.

Brundle: I'm going there to give it my best shot.
James Brundle will represent Mildenhall in the Conference League Riders Championship at Rye House on Saturday. "Rye House is never the easiest of away tracks but I'm going there to give it my best shot" said the 16 year old.

GP Qualifier final - Pepe wins, Lukas hurt again.
At Poole this afternoon, sixteen top riders chased just six qualifying places for the 2004 Grand Prix series. Poland's Piotr Protasiewicz won the meeting with fourteen points to secure his GP spot.
Reading thumped at Edinburgh.
Reading Racers first match of their Premier League northern tour, ended in a heavy 60-30 defeat to high-flying Edinburgh Monarchs on Friday evening. The Monarchs have been in excellent this season and on this showing look certain to be in the Premier League shake up.

Dryml GP ambition.
Ales Dryml is keen to join brother Lukas in the 2004 Grand Prix series when he rides at Poole on Sunday. Dryml, axed by Belle Vue last month, is also hoping for a return to the Elite League and a good performance in Dorset would help.
