2002 World Superbike calendar unveiled.

Next year's WSBK schedule bears close resemblance to the 2001 example, but features the arrival of Silverstone in the UK and an as yet unknown French venue.

The Gallic circuit, when it is announced, will play host to the final round of the series, upsetting Imola's hopes of again staging the championship finale as it did in 2001. Silverstone, meanwhile, replaces series stalwart Donington Park as promoter Octagon brings the first of two British races 'in house'.

The rest of the calendar has a more familiar ring to it, with visits to old favourites like Assen, Monza, Brands Hatch and Laguna Seca interspersed with the likes of Phillip Island, Kyalami, Sugo and Misano. Valencia again plays host to the opening round, with the Lausitzring road course and Oschersleben adding two German venues to the mix.

The series kicks off in early March, with, on average, two races each month until the traditional August break. The final round is slated for October.
