Toseland jams with Jools Holland.

Racing at high speeds in front of thousands of fans doesn't concern current World Champion James Toseland, however the Xerox Ducati rider admitted to Crash.net that meeting the stars still makes him star stuck - especially when that star is Jools Holland.

Racing at high speeds in front of thousands of fans doesn't concern current World Champion James Toseland, however the Xerox Ducati rider admitted to Crash.net that meeting the stars still makes him star stuck - especially when that star is Jools Holland.

The Sheffield rider had the opportunity of a life time recently when he got the chance to play piano with Jools Holland in front of a sell out crowd of 25,000 at Newmarket. "It's the most exciting thing I've done since Magny Cours last year!" said Toseland " Jools Holland as a pianist is a hero of mine. All my family came down, especially my Gran who taught me to play, and to see me play with the likes of Jools Holland she was very emotional about it. It was a great day."

Toseland regularly plays in his own band, ironically called Crash. He is a talented pianist but being asked to play with Holland made the usually chilled out rider a little bit nervous. "It is nerve wracking. I take for granted the kind of image I have in motorcycle racing, I don't look at it that way, but I'm still star struck when I see somebody like that. I was stood at the back of the stage watching him all through the gig and to see someone who does something similar to you but just so much better is great. I mean I play piano ok but its like being a normal bike rider watching Rossi going round, it's just a pleasure to watch."

The cue for Toseland to take to the stage was Holland picking up his guitar - "He said 'I do two guitar songs and the second one is when you'll be playing piano with me.' As soon as he picked the guitar up I started to worry as I knew I was on soon. It was a great evening."

After the Alstare Corona Extra World Superbike round this weekend at Brands Hatch in Kent, Toseland will be taking to the stage once again for a charity gig in aid of Riders for Health and there will hopefully be a few famous faces there. " Big thanks to Jools and all the boys who organised it, it was just a great day out. I think Jools might be coming here on Sunday, the lead guitarist from Status Quo , Rick Parfitt is coming down Sunday as well. Our band will be playing at the Corona hospitality after the races, Rick might get up and do a bit of a solo with us, that would be fantastic as well," he concluded.
