Luke Mossey scores first team points for Pedercini Racing
Luke Mossey scored his and Team Pedercini Racing’s first team points of the 2021 World Superbike Championship during last weekend’s round four at Donington Park.
Mossey was drafted in to replace the Italian rookie after Cavalieri and the team decided to terminate their contract for the season.
Mossey’s last appearance in the series was 2018 (with the same team), but took little time in making the adjustment back to World Superbike machinery, as an impressive Superpole performance saw him qualify ahead of Alvaro Bautista, Tito Rabat and Eugene Laverty to name a few.
The current Bournemouth Kawasaki rider in British Superstock claimed 14th place in race one - the same position he started, while also finishing ahead of team-mate Loris Cresson in all three races.
Mossey added: "It was nice to get some points on the board for the team and to have something to build on for Sunday.
"We had no testing as I was asked to ride quite late, so we decided not to change too much for the Superpole race and Race 2 because it was more a case of me trying to adapt.
"I was able to improve my feeling and lap times on Sunday, but the weather played a big part today.
"I am happy to be able to score points for the team and thank them for the opportunity to race for them again."
It’s unclear whether this was a one-time appearance for Mossey or if he will be present for the next round at Assen.
