Just like in race one, Odendaal made the winning overtake at turn 15 in what was a mirror image of the move he made on Dominique Aegerter.
Cluzel produced a stunning ride to take third from the rear of the grid. The French rider recovered from the disappointment of race one where he was taken out whilst in a winning position by Niki Tuuli.
It looked like Cluzel’s barren run of luck would continue as he was demoted from pole position just before the race began because of a tyre pressure infringement.
Philipp Oettl and Federico Caricasulo crashed just two turns into the race in conditions that were similar to the WorldSBK Superpole race.
