The team are already represented in the WTCC by team owner Kristian Poulsen, who made his debut at Estoril and also raced at Brands Hatch, but this will be O'Brien's first drive for the team on the global stage.
With Poulsen Motorsport, who run a trio of BMW 320sis for Poulsen, O'Brien and European Cup winner Michael Nykaer in the hotly contested DTCC, expected to graduate fully to the WTCC Independents' Trophy in 2009, O'Brien - who is currently classified 16th that championship - is thought to be in-line for one of the drives.
So far Poulsen has recorded a second, a fourth, a fifth and an eighth in the four races he has competed in so far.
