Wagstaff fishes for Ryan.
Oxford Speedway Promoter Nigel Wagstaff has waded in and caught the impressive Ryan Fisher to join the 2004 Silver Machine. Fisher first impressed the Oxford management with a string of strong performances for his club and two excellent guest appearances for the Silver Machine in 2003.

Fisher, who is a Coventry asset, found himself without a team place at Brandon this year thanks to their major shake up and will join the Oxford side on a loan deal. He is graded as a three point rider and Wagstaff admits that it is a gamble: "We have two young three point riders in the team which could be seen by some as a gamble however I am a firm believer in youth and feel it is a risk worth taking". Fisher and Travis McGowan have had their fair share of skirmishes in the past
"They are both committed to what they do and are real entertainers which is a boost" Wagstaff concluded. The team is now nearly complete with five riders signed and only two to go, and more importantly with only two points left to play with, Wagstaff however is confident that he has made the right decision
"The opportunity to ride with Greg (Hancock) and to have a year away from Coventry could both have a significant impact on this young mans future in the sport" he said. Oxford Speedway are thankful to Ken Soames of Monarch Oxford, who have stepped in to sponsor Ryan following the retirement of Todd Wiltshire last year.
