Baldwin steps in for Arena Essex.
The Kent Sweepers Hammers management have swooped to sign the experienced Carl Baldwin on loan from Elite League Ipswich. And the 37 year old makes his debut in Friday's home cup match against Newport at the Purfleet Raceway.
Confirmation was received from the British Speedway Promoters Association at lunchtime today (Wednesday) that the move had been approved, and it's a move that sees Baldwin come into the Hammers septet as a replacement for injury victim Andy Galvin.

The specialist treating Galvin for the knee injury he sustained on Arena's recent northern tour, could not specify a date for his return to the saddle and with Galvin dropping to reserve from tomorrow following the publication of new averages, the Hammers moved quickly to sign Baldwin.
He'll come into the side at reserve in the No. 7 slot partnering Scott Courtney with Lee Herne moving up into the top five for the month of August.
As and when Galvin is fit to resume riding, the make up of the Arena team will be reviewed.
