Pietraszko back at the weekend.
Kirkland Carpets' Berwick Bandits were delighted to receive the news yesterday (Monday) that their Polish star, Adam Pietraszko has been given the all-clear to race once more after his unexpected bout of appendicitis.
Diamonds sparkle at Stoke
The Newcastle Diamonds kick started their 2005 season with an emphatic 51-43 win over the Stoke Potters down in the Potteries. Top scorer for the Diamonds was new captain Phil Morris with 13 + 1 from 5 rides.
Robertson sccops local award.
On the eve of Newcastle's 2005 season Jamie Robertson will be in action up at Armadale tonight (Friday,7.30pm start) riding for England against Scotland in the 3rd attempt to stage this meeting after previously being rained off at the end of the 2004 season.
Wolff in for Simota at Reading.
Reading Racers have now been given official permission by the BSPA to include Richard Wolff in their 2005 team-line-up.
Kids for a quid all season at Reading.
Reading Racers younger supporters will be in for a treat when the tapes rise at Smallmead on Monday 21st March, as the Club have tied up a deal which will enable them to operate the 'Kid for a Quid' scheme for the entire 2005 season.
Machine reunite Hamill and Hancock.
The waiting is finally over and it has been confirmed that Billy Hamill and Greg Hancock will be riding for the Oxford Silver Machine in 2005.
Pietraszko hospitalised.
With the countdown to the opening match of the season now down to only four days, the jaw-dropping news arrived from Poland that Berwick's potential number 1 for 2005, Pole, Adam Pietraszko had been rushed into his local hospital on Friday last week suffering from agonising appendicitis.

Following an intensive threepractice session at Hoddesdon this week there was good news and bad on the injury front. Worst possible news was the accident in which Tommy Allen, Rockets newly promoted team member, sustained a broken left nkle likely to keep him sidelined for 6 weeks.

Sittingbourne speedway's pre-season planning took a huge step forward at the weekend with their training session at Iwade producing three new signings, a main sponsor and vital Television exposure with crews from BBC South East and ITV Meridian in attendance.

Promising teenager Matt Wright has become the second confirmed signing for the Robert Heath Heating Dons and joins Mark Burrows in the starting line-up for the 2005 team.

Gary Phelps, the former Isle of Wight heat leader, has been deemed too good for the Dorset side following a major rule change by the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA).

The name on the lips of the Newcastle Diamonds promotion is the Australian Gold Coast-born Christian Henry. Henry completed the Diamonds line-up yesterday by signing on loan from Edinburgh.

Arena-Essex Speedway Promoter, Ronnie Russell, has now announced the name of the seventh rider who will compete for the Hammers in 2005. Welshman. Phil Morris has agreed to become the Club's No. 8.

Wildcats boss Brian White has completed his line-up for next season. The Weymouth team manager today confirmed that both skipper David Mason and teenager Matt Bates have now signed new contracts to ride at the Wessex Stadium in the summer.

Leigh Adams continued his all-conquering ways on local soil when he collected an eighth Australian Speedway Championship in Mildura (Vic) on Saturday, January 8.
Dons New Year boost as Burrows signs on for 2005.
Wimbledon Speedway secured a flying start to the New Year with the news that top man Mark "Buzz " Burrows has signed on the dotted line for another season of Conference League racing at Plough Lane.
Mason awarded testimonial.
Weymouth's track record will be on the line when David Mason stages his testimonial next season. The Wildcats' skipper is due to celebrate ten years in speedway with an all-star individual meeting in August.

It was finally announced on Sunday evening that the Hammers will continue to be known as "Arena-Essex ".
Phelps coup for White.
Wildcats boss Brian White has continued his 2005 team building by snapping up Gary Phelps from Conference League treble winners Mildenhall. The 27-year-old Swindon-based rider has signed a one-year deal with the Wessex Stadium club and is expected to wear the number three jacket next season.
