Ducati will promote the September 1 launch of Superman Returns by fielding a special livery during Sunday's Brands Hatch round of the Corona Extra Superbike World championship.
As such the Ducati Xerox 999F06 machines of championship leader Troy Bayliss and team-mate Lorenzo Lanzi, along with their leathers and helmets, will feature imagery based on the film.
"We are very pleased to be partnering with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Suomy to celebrate the launch of Superman Returns within the incredibly popular sport of Superbike," said Paolo Ciabatti, Ducati Corse Superbike director. "With Troy Bayliss winning eight races already this season, who better to bear the colours of Superman in World Superbike?"
"Being part of the World Superbike Championship and bringing Superman to the race with the Ducati Xerox Team's champions and Suomy gives worldwide visibility to this much-loved Super Hero and to the new film," added Pilar Zulueta of Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "We are thrilled to link Superman to a sporting event that has such a high level of visibility and one that is characterised by a spectacular show and top performances."
The Red Bull Formula One team also promoted Superman Returns, at May's Monaco Grand Prix (pictured).
