Foggy Petronas Racing continues its quest for a 2007 sponsor at this weekend's Brands Hatch round of the Corona Extra World Superbike championship, where team owner Carl Fogarty updated Crash.net Radio on the current situation.

"We're still working really hard to get a sponsor for the future," began 'King Carl'. "We've got a few things in the pipeline and a few decisions coming around late August/September time.

"We're in a strong position in a lot of ways - big team, big image, big name - and we're a team that has everything in place to go racing. We don't owe any money to anybody or anything like that. It's all plus, plus, plus so it's just finding that one guy with the money and getting his signature.

"I know how hard it is (to find big sponsor) - I knew it was going to be really hard from the start. Everyone thought it would be easy because of who I am and stuff, but it's not," added Foggy. "I'm still quite optimistic that we can get the money together to run a team next year in whatever championship."

Foggy's team has been linked with all three major two wheeled championships - MotoGP, WSBK and BSB - so which would he prefer?

"The two worlds one are obviously where I want to be - either MotoGP or World Superbike," replied the former four-times WSBK champion. "My options are open to both really, I know the organisers from both are desperate to either get us in (MotoGP) or keep us here (WSBK), so we'll see what the future brings.

"I don't want to be going fishing next year though so hopefully we'll get some money to stay racing!"
