The JAG Tigers head back from the North East in time to face Arena Essex, who had a night off on Monday after their match at Exeter was rained off. Trelawny briefly held the lead at Newcastle following a 4-2 from reserves Pavel Ondrasik and Simon Phillips in heat two, but Newcastle gradually eased into an eight point lead.
Trelawny came back strongly in the closing stages, however. Seemond Stephens and Steve Masters grabbed a 5-1 in heat 11 and the Tigers levelled the scores at 39-all with a couple of 4-2s in heats 12 and 13.
Newcastle regained a two-point lead going into the final heat in which Masters and Chris Harris rounded off successful evenings by taking second and third places. But Kenneth Bjerre grabbed the heat win to complete a 15-point maximum and ensure Newcastle's victory.
