Holloway back to face Dragons.

One of the great characters in Swindon's history has re-joined the club, as Malcolm Holloway has agreed to help out the Pro-Fit Sprockets' Conference League Trophy squad, and is in the side for the visit of Carmarthen to Blunsdon tonight [Thursday].

Finding himself surplus to requirements at Premier League outfit Somerset Rebels, the Swindonian was delighted when the chance came to sign for his hometown club again.

"I would ideally have preferred to stay in the Premier," he admits, "but this was really too good an opportunity to miss. A major factor in my decision was the chance to help bring on the youngsters - it is tough trying to break into the sport these days, and I will be trying to instil in them positive attitudes. So many races are won and lost in the head, so as much as technique, I will be working on their mental approach."

The junior scene is thriving at Swindon these days, and there is plenty of raw talent for the Pro-Fit Sprockets' new skipper to work on, none-more so than local boy Simon Dyminski, who has come on leaps and bounds over the past few months. Also included in the home team for the latest in the Pharmaccord Products-sponsored series are two brothers of current first team members - Daniel King, brother of Jason, and Tommy Allen, brother of Oliver. Mark Steel continues to resurrect a career that looked so promising before being curtailed by work and college commitments last year, and opens the meeting alongside Jack Gledhill, son of former rider Ian. Welsh youngster Tom Brown takes the number five jacket, and team manager Peter Oakes has also named a number eight for the evening in Nick Mallett.

The visitors have suffered several injuries throughout their debut season, but have still managed to make a reasonable impression on the Conference League. The Dragons will make interesting visitors to Swindon, as Carmarthen become the latest in a long list of clubs to have ridden at Blunsdon, and the evening starts with the parade of riders at 7.30pm.
